Mission Statement•Establish a (deed-restricted) wine region.• Organize and host Food and Wine Festivals to raise funds.• Identify and acquire suitable land for vineyards and supporting infrastructure. Prepare the land by improving soil conditions and installing necessary systems (irrigation, trellising, etc.).•Purchase and divide at least 700- 800 acres into 5 to 50-acre lots. Sell and rent the majority of properties to winemakers only. Select properties will be designated for a gastronista's shopping village, a DIY village of the arts, fairgrounds, parking, public bathrooms, and entertainment vendors.•Start by bringing together at least 6 deep-rooted Florida wineries tucked into the slopes of a folded hillside. Amongst rolling roads fringed with steep slopes lined with muscadine, strawberry, blueberry, orange, lime… crops.•Construct 6 (or more) commercial-scaled state-of-the-art wineries, with facilities for wine tasting, dining, production, storage, restrooms and an option for kitchen facilities. Then, sign over wineries and land to well-known Florida wine growers.• Help growers obtain Florida Department of ABT licensures. Collaborate with the Florida Department of Agriculture to create a Farm Bill, allowing growers within the region to utilize communal crops, thereby reducing the minimum acreage requirements for smaller wineries to just one acre lot within the region.• Register with the Florida Department of Health and construct On-Farm Labor Housing on four acres. Will include a community garden, community pool, playground and laundromat.•Help establish an AVA (wine appellation) in the state of Florida. We want to collaborate with the National Grape Research Alliance, the University of Florida, the FAMU Center for Viticulture, and the USDA Agricultural Research Service to build a collaborative Extension/ Research Office within the wine region.•Collaborate with the local Florida Department of Commerce to build a state-certified Florida Welcome Center within the region.•Work together with the Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson to create a Community State Fair Ground to hold state fairs and for individual wineries in the region to use for events.•Create a public bike trail that goes around the region's perimeter.•Construct a Gastronista's Shopping Village with an eclectic of historical European and Gregorian architectural elements. (DESIRED SHOPS: spice, tea, coffee, bakery, meat, cheese, honey, sweet shop, olive oil, ice cream, wine making, culinary class)•Construct a DIY Art Village inspired by Cycladic architectural features.• Construct a Community Center for Property Owners Association (POA meetings/ functions and a conjoining Wine Tasting Room that allows visitors to taste all the most sold and award-winning wines from each winery from the region.Revenue from retail store rentals will be allocated towards building affordable homes, while revolving funds will go towards the (POA) will cover the upkeep of roads, trails, parking lots, fairgrounds, restrooms, entrance landscaping, expenses for tasting room bartenders and the management of the comunity center, retail villages, and fairgrounds.)•Promote and create a wine trail passport for all current wineries in Florida. Launch marketing campaigns targeting wine enthusiasts and tourists. |
